Since one cruise ship wants to win over another in a specific category, the ships continue to evolve into bigger packages with better surprises.

An ordinary cruise ship has the hotel amenities like restaurants, nice cabins, lovely viewing decks, swimming pools, hip bars, gym and fitness centers. These are the same amenities you can find in luxury cruise ships but the quality and level of services increase so many knots:

* Rooms without windows are much more comfortable with flat screen TVs and Jacuzzis. * Suites could cover half of a deck with their 4 rooms, own living rooms and viewing terraces. * Common areas expand to equal the length and size of a football field. * Restaurants offer the finest cuisines of the world. * Amphitheaters sit outside for outdoor concerts or performances. * Swimming pools abound with innovations, which may include wave-producing technologies that encourage onboard surfing. * Nightlife is more exciting and free-spirited with the latest concoctions of drinks and music. * Hipper bars that are engineering wonders since they could "levitate" or be made to move up and down a few decks. * Sports and wellness facilities that may include state-of-the-art gym equipment and wall climbing spaces. * Day care centers, libraries, casinos, and indoor theaters

The list gets longer by the year and things only get better and better. The world's largest cruise ship today will immediately be the second placer once the other cruise company launches their bid.
